MALANDRA TAKES NEW YORK FASHION WEEK 

 A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to be at New York Fashion Week to walk with different international brands and showcase the collections for the next season. We tell you a little about how our day-to-day was and at the end we leave you the link to some of our favorite pieces. 

 

 

DAY 1 - DESIGNERS MEETING

Our first day at NYFW was amazing as all the designers were called to meet each other and that's exactly what we did. As we got to know the designers, we heard different stories of inspiration and how they had traveled from Italy, France, Canada, etc. to present their collection in this fashion week, it was truly incredible to learn a little from everyone. 

 

On the other hand, we met the Flying Solo team and the organizers behind the NYFW Runway... they gave us details of what would happen in the following days and the schedules in which we would have to present ourselves for each activity from interviews to fitting and styling sessions. 

 

 

DAY 2 - INTERVIEW

On the second day, all the designers were called again at different times to be interviewed about the collections they would be presenting on the runway and the inspiration behind the designs. Our CEO Pamela was one of the first to give her interview at 10:00 am, the set was truly spectacular where the background was filled with incredible covers of different important fashion magazines.

To our surprise, several designers questioned us about the questions asked in the interview since Pamela had been one of the first... this made us even more aware of how no matter how many years you have been in the industry, or where you come from, an interview always generates some nerves.

 

 

 

 

DAY 3 - FITTING DAY

This day was the fitting and styling session, where looks were tested with the models to ensure everything was in order. It was truly extraordinary to see the designs of the people we had already met... all the inspiration stories we had heard came to light. 

 

On the other hand, the synergy that was generated among the designers when deciding on the final looks for each model was incredible, undoubtedly many relationships and friendships were created this day. It was also on this day that Malandra managed to collaborate with 4 different international designers for the NYFW Runway, this made our collections be in 4 different catwalks, e x c i t i n g!

 

 

 

 

DAY 4 - RUNWAY DAY

The title says it all, the fourth day was where all the efforts were summed up on the runways. Seeing how our pieces complemented different styles, profiles, and personalities was a pride... undoubtedly each look represented our mission as a company: empowering women by helping them project their best version using jewelry as a tool.
