A nearly colorless gemstone (color D) with a hardness of 9.25 on the Moh's scale, Moissanite is harder than all other gemstones (ruby, emerald, sapphire) except diamond. The brightness of Moissanite (refractive index) is 2.65, higher than that of a mined diamond (2.42).
